Description
By default, Firefox adds www.
just before the host domain. If you attempt to navigate to example.com
. In some instances, there are different responses depending on if you have www.
or not in a URL.
It is annoying when Firefox adds the www.
which may cause a different/unwanted response. This is a way to stop Firefox from doing this.
Solve
- Navigate to Firefox Config. Such as the following within the URL bar:
about:config
- Search for the following string:
browser.fixup.alternate.prefix
- SetĀ the value fromĀ
www.
=>false
- Remember to close and restart Firefox!
